January 05, 1945 Retired Married

I graduated from Northern Illinois University earning a Comprehensive Major in Marketing degree.  I returned to Beloit and began my adult career at the Beloit State Bank downtown facility and then the Prairie Avenue Branch.  After two years I moved to Madison then Milwaukee and continued working in the financial field.

In late 1971, I took a position wholesaling men's accessories directly to the retailer.  My first territory was based in Nashville, Tennessee, where I spent three years traveling 2 1/2 states.

I was then transferred to Chicago where I spent thirty years selling in Wisconsin and Illinois.  I retired in 2005 after spending the last twenty years of my sales career employed by Leegin Leather Products and Brighton women's accessories.

I married my wife Candy in September of 1973.  We have three sons:  Eric-35, Brent-33, Christopher-29 and one grandchild, Hawkins-26 months.

Candy and I spend our retirement time between our townhome in Inverness, Illinois, and our 'cottage' in Wisconsin's Door Peninsula.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in October!!

May 29, 1945 PHARMACIST-RETIRED Married
In the Fall of 1963 I was accepted into the School of Pharmacy-University of Wisconsin Madison and graduated in 1968. During a blizzard in the winter of 1968 I married my best friend....Tom Nelson....and our adventures began. We lived in Alexandria Virginia for 1 year and Wurzburg Germany for 1 year before returning to make our home in Beloit. In 2009 we moved to Northern Wisconsin and built our home on a very quiet lake. We enjoy listening to the sounds of nature and seeing the many species of wildlife. On August 29,2016, I retired from my profession of Pharmacy after 48 years-specializing in Clinical and Oncology Pharmacy. We enjoy cooking, fishing, music, traveling and several other pastimes. We have had the privilege of traveling worldwide with many more destinations to be explored. To all of my friends and classmates from the BMHS CLASS OF 1963--I wish you happiness.   PS.Tom is still my best friend and the adventures continue! Send Jo a MessageSend Jo a Message

May 07, 1945 Retired Married 2

Hello Classmates,

After BMHS I attended UW-Milwaukee for 2 years and then transferred to UW-Madison and graduated in Jan of 1968 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering.  In February of 68 I started work for Ladish Co., a Forge Shop in Cudahy, WI and stayed there until my retirement in 2009.

Ladish specializes in making very large forgings for Caterpillar tractors, airplane landing gears, jet engines, missiles, tanks and helicopters. The two side tanks on the space shuttle that parachute back to earth are Ladish forgings.

I met Selma Lee (Class of 67) at the old hospital in Beloit and we married in 1968 and have two children, Jim & Sarah and two grandchildren, Teddy & Valerie.  We reside in Waterford, WI about 55 miles northeast of Beloit.

Selma and I started doing family research in the 1970's and have spent many vacations traveling around the States visiting Cemeteries, Court Houses, and meeting distant cousins we have discovered in our research. It has also taken us to Ireland and Norway with hopes to go to Germany one day.

In retirement we continue our family research, do volunteer work, and find ourselves traveling quite often to Iowa & Kentucky to visit our grandkids.  I have self-published one family history book with plans for several others and have written an article for a German magazine about the emigration of my ancestors in the 1850’s.

One of our projects is to write our life’s stories for our grandchildren as by the time they may become interested in their grandparent’s experiences we may be long gone.  I look forward to hearing of where life’s journey has led you.
