Piano teacher, artist and video developer Committed Relationship
I have 2 amazing boys that I raised myself.  Both graduated college and have great careers in the medical profession.  In the process I was the first WOMAN vice president of Texas State Optical - a big franchise  company in the South.  I ran the manufacturing lab in Beaumont, TX - not a good place to visit or live......very polluted.    After that I was the director of operations for New West Eyeworks traveling from Alaska to Colorado, through Oregon, Idaho and Washington too........such beautiful country.    Too much travel and stress made me realize that there was something better in life.  Now I chill, enjoy my church, take care of my significant other ( Ho Chul Choi),volunteer at the cat shelter,  garden, redecorate this old Portland house we bought, hit the gym and travel.  Oh, no idea of who this kid in the picture is.......just a cute little boy that wanted his picture taken.  We rode to the coast this day on our motorcycle........such fun.
Check out my videos on YouTube at:  TheTravelrabbit.  I always travel with the rabbit.

October 10, 1945 General Building Contractor Married 2
I joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and ended up being stationed in Mt. View, California. I married Barbara Swinehart in 1967,  we will celebrate 46 years of marriage in August of this year. We reside in San Jose, California and have a 41 year old son and a 36 year old daughter. Two Grandchildren, a 10 year old Grandson  2-18-2003 and a brand new Granddaughter 2-18-2013  , they were born  exactly 10 years to the day apart.  We are lovin it !  Grandkids are definately the best.  After the Navy I eventually found my calling in the Jewelry business and then spent nearly 30 years as a Designer, Goldsmith/Diamond Setter, designing, creating and selling fine jewelry, with our own retail store for much of that time. I left the jewelry industry about 10 years ago and became a General Building Contractor doing remodel work full time and golfing once in a while. Maybe next year it will be golfing full time and contracting once in a while.  Yeah, I think that's the best way!

December 08, 1944 Retired Married 4
In 1991, Beloit Corp sent Brad to Jilenia Gora, Poland, for two years to help the Polish people at a new factory. Ruth was living in Chicago at that time. She was a teacher and came with us to Poland to teach Anna and Matt. They had a classroom on the company grounds. St. John's (the childrens' school in Beloit) sent all their books, work books, etc. We came home for Christmas both years and when we were here, the children had their desks in their classrooms and were in school for the time we were here.

Ruth died from cancer Sept. 30, 2012. We have 6 grandchildren.

Retired Army and State of WI Married 3
Went to UW-Platteville 3 years in Engineering and (though in good standing as senior) tried to transfer to Whitewater in 66 but was drafted during the 2 week start time difference then. To then get a skill I preferred, I enlisted because they would not change my draft status.  Somehow, because of my credits already achieved, I was fast tracked to OCS at Ft. Sill, OK thus becoming an officer after becoming a DI corporal enroute.  Went to Vietnam and then returned to P-Ville graduating in Jun 1971 with a Comprehensive Science&Mathematics plus Psychology degree (enjoyed college a bit to much) after 3 years of active duty then.  Surprise, surprise...I was retained in the active reserve system with two recalls to active status along the way till retired with near 23 years in 1988 and finally discharged/released on my 60th birthday.  Unplanned but great military career retiring as a Major.  Other civilian periods along the way included working as a policeman, mental health counselor in Rock County, small business owner of plating company, nationwide commericial smokehouse salesman, even drove over the road semi between jobs onetime, maint. supervisor at a local foundry and last job as Nuc. Engn. Specialist for State of WI as a FDA  X-Ray inspector certifying mammogram programs at hospitals&clinics.  Seems all my jobs involved lots of travel.  Good ride but happy to be retired with Army and State pensions plus the usual SS stuff.  Planning to visit my kids and spoil my grandkids as much as possible where ever in the world or states they may be.  Looking forward to seeing former classmates.  Hoping many come to our 50th.  Can't believe it is going by so fast but have enjoyed everyday.  Too many are no longer with us!  I roomed in college 1 year with Eddy Brown before he was killed in vietnam.  Appreciate the bio's posted by many of you.  One regret is not going in Navy with Wayne Grundy who was my childhood best friend and very respected achiever.  We grew up at a good time.    Hoping to see other classmates who are special to me also.  Will miss especially some who are no longer with us.  Great Class with class.

After a 4 year tour in the Navy I met my future wife Jane in the summer of 1968. We were married in February 1969. We recently celebrated 44 years together. Our daughter and her family reside in Madison. She owns a private music studio there.

My working career as a Controls Engineer consisted primarily of installing and servicing compter control systems on large paper machines throughout the upper midwest. I enjoyed employement with Honeywell, Georgia Pacific, and GE.

In retirement I am active in my church, community (school tutor), jail ministry, and I teach a personal finance class to low income families through a local civic organization.

We have been blessed and enjoy extending the blessing to others .

See you at the reunion!
